Summary:
Maintain equipment/department cleanliness and comply with all elements related to LEAN and 5S during initial employment period; progress into Operator Training Program as schedule designates; efficiently and safely operate equipment to meet production and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Perform general hot end cleaning and laborer tasks; use air hoses, rakes, shovels, and other tools to keep the equipment and machines clean.
Take the on-coming job change equipment to the hot end; bring the off-going job change equipment to the mold shop.
Successfully complete all elements of the Machine Operator Training Program when designated.
Perform as a Relief Operator and/or Operator during/after successful training completion.
Dump cullet and trash from the hot end.
Man basement during colored glass production and when necessary during power failures or equipment breakdowns.
Strip machines and cleans machines going out of production; prepare equipment on machines scheduled to come into production.
Complete the corking, as needed.
Drive Forklift, as scheduled, to empty cullet bins and transport equipment; complete forklift maintenance checklist and follow all Forklift Safety Rules and Guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Able to work with minimum supervision Basic mechanical skills Self-motivated PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT High temperatures.
Bending/crouching on a daily basis; oftentimes under equipment or machines.
Able to regularly lift or maneuver up to 75 lbs.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE Steady work history; preferably in an industrial or construction-like environment Able to successfully pass inbound mechanical aptitude test.
